The Wii! After 5 weeks of sales, the Wii is clearly ahead of the pack! I knew swinging your Wii remote around as a wand would be a great idea.
Sales:
Wii 63,990
DS 44,319
PS2 32,008
360 30,302
PS3 27,641

Why?
Better controls, it was the one with the most commercials, and ps3's install base is mostly hardcore gamers that dont waste there money on movie games that always suck(with the exception of spiderman)

Congratulations to the Wii...
Except that people expected this game to be a massive hit on the Wii before it came out. 64,000 is a joke for this license, it bombed on all consoles.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

@Leo-j 63,990/10 mil = .66% (or .0066) of Wii owners own HPATOOTP. 27,641/4mil= .69% (or .0069)...
The percentage shows PS3 owners are more likely to own it than Wii owners.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

It definitely didn't bomb, Ck, the issue is that Harry Potter games always sell best in the EU, and we don't have that information on the site. This new Harry Potter game has sold well over two million copies all told, and it does appear that the Wii version dominated all the others.

While those % of wii users with the game is correct, it doesn't matter at all because companies care first and foremost about the absolute, i.e. how many it sells. The absolute numbers are what determine their profits and sales.
By contrast, you can use that measure to say almost every PS2 game has failed. Even GTA games would then have an attach rate of little over 10% of PS2 install base compared to SSB on GC with an attach rate of around 20%+.
So when a multi plat sells more on the Wii than the others we are going to just find a way to make it "not count" or "be obvious that it was going to"? Not really fair IMO, this is like the 3rd multiplat title that has managed to do better on Wii than PS3 and each time its ignored, but people constantly bring up stuff like Madden that barely outsold the Wii version on PS3 and somehow thats just fine to use as an example.

Madden 07 was also a launch title, when the Wii had no install base advantage over the PS3 (of course, that advantage grew quickly). The last 5 multi-platform titles are as follows, in chronological order:
Spider Man 3
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Bigs
Transformers
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The last 3 came out on the same day. Of these, the last game where the PS3 outsold the Wii version was Spider Man 3 -- and if you look, the Wii version has been catching up quickly, and will outsell the PS3 version within a month. Some of these, the Bigs and Harry Potter most notably, outsold the PS3 version 2:1 or 3:1.

Outselling the PS2 and Nintendo DS versions in North America is hugely noteworthy ...
The DS and PS2 not only have a far larger userbase but probably have a much larger percentage of their users in this games key demographic (pre-teen gamers); I'm not saying that all gamers who are interested in this game are pre-teens, just they will be out in force buying this game and make up a disproportionately large portion of the userbase.
