Forums - Gaming - MGS4 ON XBOX 360....HMV CONFIRMS

I wouldn't take this seriously. Remember in the past year you have been able to preorder Bioshock, Eternal Sonata and Alan Wake (a MS game) on the PS3. Does anyone think we will be seeing them on the PS3 anytime soon.

HMV aren't that reliable. Not to long ago they were offeing Halo 3 at £5.

The dates are also strange. Konami have not released any oficial date for the PS3 but they have said before 1st April. HMW have it at 18th April. Also the 360 date is exactly 1 year after Halo 3 is released (only a day out).

Even IF the gap is not big between Xbox360 and PS3 in mars 2008,
an eventual Xbox360 port will DOUBLE the numbers of pential users !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So yes, I think it can justify it ....

Time to Work !

Stockstar1138 i agree that the 360 would do better to run the game at 720 natively but i also believe microsoft when they say 720p is best for gaming. Obviously 1080p is best for films, but i have tried all three (including 1080i) and i do think 720p provides the optimum level of detail and smoothness. And if your desperate, 360 can upscale better than the ps3 anyway, so play it in 1080p. Honestly, at native 720p do you believe the 360 couldnt easily handle this?

not true IMHO.  1. There are people who own both consoles like me and will be buying it only on the ps3 (i don't think that hardly anybody would op for the 360 version especially if it comes out later).  2.  MGS and PS are tied closely together.  MGS has always done well on PS, its lone showing onn XBOX, didn't do so hot.  There is no reason to think just because a game does well on one platform means it will do well on another.

it all depends on what is being sacraficed for 1080p graphics.  if we are going to have to cut the framerate in half then yes, go 720p, however i believe MGS IV  is in 1080p/60fps, so this is irrelevent.  how would 720p provide the optimum level for detail?  The is 2x as much detail in a 1080p picture than a 720p one?  360 can upscale better???? No, 360 COULD upscale better, that got fixed with 1.8.  I never said at 720p the 360 couldn't handle it fine.  In fact thats what Id place my bet on if it came to the 360.

Hopefully this will show how unreliable HMV is for games info.

I completely agree, but it depends on the user base and how well it sells on the ps3. If you see the game selling 1-3million copies for the first month or so, then it will stay exclusive to that console, if not they will release it on the 360 for sure. I see the ps3 just 1 or 2million units away from hitting the large install base the 360 will have by march 08, so I dont think it will matter much.

Saiyar, your right about the dates, but both versions of that game are coming. I truly believe that games, not film, but games look better in 720p (played homecourt in both on 360, it was better in 720p). Regardless, it is looking fairly certain that MGS4 will be ported to the 360 and released sometime next yr (probably holidays), making it the biggest exclusive loss for the PS3 since Grand Theft Auto 4

I knew it, those Sony execs are lying bastards!!!

lol.

Anyways, I'm bored with this whole thing and I'm not really going to think much else of it till it's actually confirmed by Konami/Kojima.

Because HMV is the most reliable retailer by far. MGS4 might be coming to the 360, but I don't really call this solid evidence.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
