So Nintendo move almost 3.2 million units of hardware (Wii + DS) in ONE WEEK!

That's just unprecedented and insane.  How much higher can they go?  Now software for this week should be insane also.

They can go infinitely higher, because there is no set number it follows

I think Wii can move 2 mil alone (as long as japan picks up a good bit)

and the DS did 2 mil last year. The West is tracking higher so far (by a good bit) and Japan has the DSi.

I think it will be

2.3 mil for DS and 1.85 for the Wii. so 4.15 million consoles sold in 1 week.

I think they will seer some weeks around this time where there be 4 mil + sales of Wii and DS combined. They're both capable of selling at least 2 million a week WW.

I want to be blasé about it, and say it's nothing... it's just my jaw just hit the floor and I'm having trouble putting it back into place.

Another pretty jaw-dropping number is the Wii-series software sales, btw.

This week, the Wii-franchise sold around 3 million games!

Yes it's looking to be 3.2 million in hardware with about 17-18 million in software which is nothing short of ungodly.

I personally think this year DS can peak at a 2.8-3.2 million week while Wii could peak at a 2.4 million week. And software of those weeks could easily be over 30 million combined. They are going to rake up some platinum titles this holidays or give some titles the potential to do it in 2009.

I think Nintendo has a revenue of less than 5 billion dollars in FY 2004 (last year before DS), so they made ~ 1/4 of that in 1 week.

Could October + November 2008 be bigger in terms of revenue, than the entire April 04 to April 05?

That would be pretty amazing.

PS: I checked up the 5 billion in FY 04, it was the same in FY 03 too, less than 5 billion.
