This is really not a position I like at all. They shouldn't have to release patch after patch... they should get it right the first time. Some of us do not have access to high speed internet and can't get these patches. What if a game is completely unplayable due to a glitch (or unfinishable)? What do we do now? Hell, poor quality control on games (remember ET the Game? was one of the causes of the 1980s gaming market crash, because consumers became weary of any game that was released.

If you can't download the patch, then you can't play online multiplayer anyways, so it doesn't matter in your case.

Also, there have been glitches in gaming since forever (heck, even the beloved 8-bit and 16-bit era games had some pretty awful glitches, hence why the new wiiware megaman game had them in there as a joke).
It's only an issue now because of the internet (people can complain in large groups) and because of multiplayer (which I admit is an issue).
I'm all for "making sure the game is right the first time" but you can't say that patches creates issues that are entirely isolated to this generation. Can't blame developers for losers glitch bitching (gotta love entourage) to gain an unfair advantage.
