Ready 2 Rumble Revolution punching out Wii in March 2009

Though we don't know much at the moment, CVG is reporting that Atari will release Ready 2 Rumble Revolution on the Wii in March of next year. In case you're among the sad few unfamiliar with the franchise, Ready 2 Rumble was a cartoonish boxing game ... really Facebreaker before Facebreaker was Facebreaker. (Oh, and before you panic, we captured the pic above from one of those older R2Rs.)

The series has typically featured mini-games to train your boxer like pill popping and weight lifting, as well as celebrity cameos like Michael Jackson and Hillary Clinton. They've been replaced in R2RR by David Beckham, Brad Pitt and John Travolta. Go figure.

I LOVED this series on the Dreamcast, and its' appearance on Wii makes it even more winly!

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

I hope that revolution don't stands for ' We will change the game like you never have seen before' and don't kill the franchise X_X. Yeah I am pessimistic.

i hope it doesn't come out near the release of punch-out, i used to have R2R on the dreamcast and it was good mindless fun game with friends, i am glad they are reviving it.

This will likely get smoked by Punch Out which should be out about the same time. If I was Atari I'd hold off on this until after Punch Out and incorporate WM+ and BB support to make it the superior option to Punch Out.

Yea that's going to pose a problem.  And even more so if Fight Night Round 4 is announced for Wii as well.
