Citing U.S. retailer reports, Microsoft said November 28 was a "historic Black Friday for Xbox 360," with an estimated 25% jump in hardware sales over Black Friday 2007.
The company further reported that since the September price drop, the Xbox 360 has outsold the PlayStation 3 "week over week across Europe," with European console sales "up as much as 400 percent."
Noted Microsoft VP Don Mattrick: "Record Black Friday sales in the U.S., coupled with our existing global install base of 25 million and an online community of more than 14 million Xbox Live members, have laid the groundwork for continued global sales momentum in 2009."
I think the key words there for me are "momentum going into 2009". A lot of 360's are being sold worldwide and that doesn't looklike it is going to stop anytime soon really. The fact that the premimum's and the elites have sold more then all the PS3's on their own tells me people are buying it regardless of price.
PS3 in my view now needs a miracle to get not only back on level terms i.e 1 360 sold for every 1 PS3 but to over take that and sell 2,3 or even 4 PS3's for every 1 360 sold. Just looking at the numbers being posted now by the 360 will just make it harder and harder to do.
