Is 400k bad for 2 weeks in Japan, 3 weeks in NA, and 0 weeks in Others?

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

When you got over 17m consoles to sell it to then yes. To put it into a bit of perspective for you.

On 360 Perfect Dark Zero, Smackdown 2008, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Star Wars Force Unleashed, Kane and Lynch, The Simpsons Game, Battlefield Bad Company, Saints Row 2, Lost Odyssey, Spiderman 3 (i can go for days?) etc.. etc.. etc.. all sold more then R2 in the same period. Now i chose for ze list games i feel have media wise not done so well. Now R2 was hyped more then all those games combined but yet it has roughly the same sales in that period. Do you consider those games a success? Probably not. It is this double standards by PS3 fanboys that makes me laugh. For a 360 game to be considered great it must sell millions. For a PS3 game to be considered great it has to sell a few hundred in a month.

Also whoever said there was a supply problem is taking the piss. I was in oxford street only last week and there were literally boxes full of them. Granted the PS3 section had been moved to a tiny corner but you could still see them.

The bolded statement does not stand up to fact checking.  Of the titles I checked, R2 outsold Lost Odyssey, Splinter Cell, Perfect Dark Zero, The Simpsons Game, and Spider-Man 3 during the first 3 weeks.

Your "PS3 fanboy double standard" comment is just a lame attempt to discredit anybody that doesn't share your views.

Perfect Dark Zero = Week 1 - 220k. Week 2 - 53k.  Week 3 - 30k =  300k. (only 100k less)

Lost Odyssey = Week 1 - 224k. Week 2 - 98k. Week 3 - 76k = 398k (only 4k less)

Simpsons Game = Week 1 - 118k. Week 2 - 104k. Week 3 - 115k. = 337k (60k less).

Spiderman 3 = Week 1 - 140k. Week 2 - 80k. Week 3 - 52k = (100k out)

etc. etc..

All those games as i said "Have roughly the same sales". Guess you didn't read that bit right?

And the double standard remark is not lame it is fact. You would expect R2 to sell more then a 100k more then Spider-man 3 over the same time period would you not? Because it didn't in my book puts the game in the "dissapointing" pile. Only people such as yourself try and big those numbers up as anything special. That doesn't make anyone a fanboy who thinks that it makes them a realist....

Oh, another R2 sales thread. This is as needed as another RPG on the DS.

How about waiting 6 months and discussing some real sales data.

I don't know, I'm always up for one more RPG for my DS.

I'm not sure what the developmental cost were for R2, but it was T-H-E launch title for ps3, and nearly every ps3 original owner had it...and ytd, the game has sold 3.29 mil...so I'm not sure what's the mystery here, wrt to poor marketing and what not from sony. It does seem to be a significant double standard that sony fans want to apply to be mediorce sales figure for their AAA title's performance like LBP and R2...these are SONY EXCLUSIVES...the reason WHY YOU NEED TO OWN THE PS3...so I don't get COD selling more than R2...that's my point.

I'm pretty dissapointed with sales thus far as well for such a stellar title, but it really has no affect on me so I don't get my panties in a knot. The game is phenomenal and there is never a shortage of gamers online.

It's all about the game.
