There is no way Nintendo would think about doing that.

The Wii is overpriced! Remember you are buying a updated game cube with new controllers. The price should be no more than $200 US.

Nintendo is at a point when they'll never need to drop their price this gen... they're doing terirfic already,.. don't screw up a good thing.

Exactly.  Although if Wii launched at $260 it would still have sold as many units as it has to date it would be suicidal to increase to $260 now.  Many consumers will choose not to buy it out of principle, there would be massive media attack on Nintendo and it would just result in bad feeling towards Nintendo and kill all the amazing goodwill they have built up with the Wii and DS.

Not a good idea. Despite all the sellouts and scalpers raising the effective price, raising actual prices to take advantage of this would not endear consumers to Nintendo.

They will keep the current price for a long time, with such demand. Increasing the price would be absurd.

For some reason I believe that they will lower the price before wii resort comes out.

 I think Nintendo is more likely to increase value than cut price. For example, they might bundle in Wii Sports Resort and WM+. Helps get the devs on board with supporting Nintendo's peripherals.
