Forums - Microsoft - Netflix vs. Video Marketplace

Ok--here's my question:  Do you think Microsoft is going to continue to have Netflix AND Video Marketplace at the same time?   I would really like it if they would.  Reason being that I am not planning on subscribing to Netflix.  I already pay monthly for HBO and have a HUGE selection of HD movies available to me via pay per view or Marketplace.  Yes, I know those are a per movie charge vs. a monthly flat rate, but I think the selection is way better.  In fact, between my Comcast box and my 360, I think the 360 has a much better library of available pay per view movies.  After my yearly fee for Live and my monthly fee for digital cable/HBO, I don't really feel like spending another $8.99 a month on Netflix just to have streaming movies.  (For the record, I have been doing the 14 day Netflix trial and using it on my Xbox, and I do think it's been VERY well implemented.  We watched Pirates of the Carribean last night from beginning to end without so much as a hiccup.  I just think the overall selection of titles is lacking by a wide margin.)

So what do you guys think?  If you already were paying for Netflix, you probably don't care.  I just think I would rather use Video Marketplace if I'm going to use my 360 for HD movie content.

the streaming HD movies is the future,is only way to stop the piracy and the ''suck plastic'' in the your home.

I was thinking of buying a blu ray player, but now with the netflix service of it making very difficult that does it.

Of course they are. Most of the stuff on Netflix is older stuff that has been out for a while. Only stuff that is up to date are episodes of NCSI and the three CSI's.

Well, this is true, but over the next few months, Netflix will be adding a far greater selection of movies to their streaming video category.  So while it does have it's limiting qualities right now, it will soon have an expansion.

I agree wholeheartedly. I have been thinking either I'm going to have Netflix or Gamefly and so far Gamefly is winning. I mean the streaming does work well but the movie selection sucks. You can't even stream every movie available. Some of them say they won't work on the 360. The majority of the movies I wanted to watch were like that and the others I have already. At least the XBLM movies are new and come in HD. I think this whole Netflix experience made me appreciate the Marketplace that much more. I'm mainly using Netflix for TV Shows now.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

They have to. I live in Canada and don't have access to Netflix, which is a damn shame. :(

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
