..Just picked up my copy at $29.95. The NeoGAF forums have been really positive about the game as well as VGC-ers.

If no others are going to do it, I'll be buying this to review the game. I'm very excited to play an Ogre Battle-esque game, which is exciting since I was a big fan of March of the Black Queen, and Person of Lordly Calibre.

its 19.99 over here now..............i seen it at a kiosk and it looks more leaning towards a strpg kind of system wud that be correct? and how much diff does the install make to the load in? its amoungst the worst ive seen in technical dept i have 7gig spare so wud like to know how much diff it makes

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Skeeuk -

I think calling The Last Remnant a SRPG could be a fair declaration....It has some strong SRPG elements such as large parties, and a more tactical system (but involving far less input).

As far as I've heard, installing the game makes a massive, positive difference in loading times, and other UE3-related issues.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

So it bombed sooooooooo hard !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Half price soooo soon ????

If the game did bomb, then S-E have no one to blame but themselves for not hyping the game outside of Japan.  Or it migh just be a sale going on there.

So cheap...so soon?

From my understanding, Amazon may have ordered too many copies of TLR. TLR was $39.99 well before the game even came out - which is rather odd, but they may have over-estimated, and then backed down due to IU underperforming.

I would think that retailers are supposed to stick to the MSRP due to publisher fees. How could they sell TLR for $39.99 at launch? Isn't that probably what they bought the title for? No profits?

It's strange to see a new 360 game costing as much as a new ps2 game. These prices make me want to get a 360 arcade because it's really the JRPGs on 360 I want to play. I could even do without paying for xbox live.

No idea how Amazon could manage $40 at launch, and drop it to $30 within a mere week. There were a few games I saw very insane prices on, such as Sonic Unleashed...The Force Unleashed has also seen major price reductions, which is odd given the fact that it sold well.

I'd certainly reccomend getting a X360 for the back-catalog of JRPGs. Even though reviewers have derided the majority of them, I'm certain you'd enjoy the majority of them at least for a little bit. Even if they aren't groundbreaking, the fact is....Every JRPG can be purchased for $20-$40 except for Tales of Vesperia....Brand new.

Citing Amazon for pricing (which is insanely cheap BTW...I may start buying my missing JRPGs from Amazon next year - like Spectral Force 3):

Blue Dragon $26.99 - New
Eternal Sonata $20.74 - New
Phantasy Star Universe $39.99 - New (wtf?)
Enchanted Arms $19.96 - New w/ Comic Book
Lost Odyssey $37.99 - New
Kingdom Under Fire: CoD

$29.49 - New

Infinite Undiscovery $18.95 - NEW
The Last Remnant $29.95 - NEW
Spectral Force 3 $19.96 - New
Operation: Darkness $29.99 - New
Zoids Assault $29.96 - New
Tales of Vesperia $56.99 - New

Wow! TLR is a massive bomb. What SE are thinking? Why can't they release good games?

Anyway, that list is interesting because it shows that the price of a game is influenced by its quality. ToV is almost at the launch price and it's by far the best game on the list.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Yeah, the two post I made in this thread was from my brother, not me. He barely played it for three minutes. I'm going to install it to see if anything improves. And I'll play it for more that three minutes before saying "don't buy!".

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Both of these games are a part of the list for Black Friday Deals -- good through Monday. There was an Infinite Undiscovery with "gift" listed for $19.95 but it is back to 39.95. I suspect these prices will go back up after Monday.

For the PS3, there is a good deal today also: Resistance 2 collectors edition -- $20 off...

For the Wii, they had Animal Crossing with Wii Speak bundle for 39.99 (reg 69.99) but I missed out.

There is a whole list of Friday-Monday games on sale at Amazon -- check the list at Cheap Ass Gamer...

Unfortunately, I've got too many games I want and these are down the list. I'll play them eventually, but I have to finish several others first.
