I don't think so.

I believe it will easily outsell the origianl Punch-Out
This is Nintendo IP, I highly doubt they'll let control issues to interfere with sales.
| stof said: Right now it'd be guesswork. But once we get some more info about the game (like how it controls), it should be a lot easier to tell. If it offers up the realization of the promise made by Wii sports boxing *which is fun as hell, but not precise at all*, then yes, yes I do. |
My thoughts exactly. Thanks stof for thinking for me.
No. This is not a game that many new gamers remember (Ninty's key demographic). Besides we have Punch-Out!! (NES) listed as 0.00 Million sales....
I might do so because of the popularity of the Wii, but it will never have the iconic status of Mike Tyson's Punch Out because there isn't one boxer in the world that has been as iconic as Mike Tyson in the last twenty years.
Heavens to Murgatoids.
We haven't seen enough of it yet to judge.
There have been quite a few quality first party games for Wii which won't sell even 1m copies. So whether it sells even 1m is the first question for me.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
