No, he said 40M for the year. That is 10M each quarter, so he probably meant higher for the holiday quarter.

Ummm.... seeing as how that generation is over. When did that happen (5 million PS2's in one week)? Is there a sales graph that can back this up?

Actually, the Wii is likely to the Ps2's best November next week. It needs a mere 724K, and as Black Friday is there, it is certain that Wii will do it.
As for the Ps2's best December (4 weeks) - it is far lower than Wii is likely to get.

Laughable.
The Wii's best week last year was just under 1.5 million units.
To date, the Wii has had a 50% YOY increase, at best, in most markets. So I don't see how the Wii will magically wind up with a 300% Week Over Week increase vs. last year.
2 million? Absolutely.
3 million? Possible, but unlikely.
Anything more is just stupidity.

i highly doubt that in about 5 weeks the Wii will sell 1/3 of its current hardware sells.
I think the Wii will do better then last year, but not the nuts numbers people have been predicting.
I was out today and on Black Friday I could have picked up a Wii at either Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Costco or Toys R us in Orland Park, IL. We didnt hit the first store until about 7:30AM (Walmart) and the last at Costco and we left there at about noon. Everyone had ample supply and you didnt see everyone picking them up. Walmart even said oh we have plenty more in back. Walmart even had WiiFit still available.
I really believe with the ample supply that has been available the last month that a lot of people purchase Wii's already. People werent going to be caught napping like the last 2 years so when they had the chance they picked them up.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
1 million in a week is a very good possiblity and 5 million more sold by the end of the year is also possible.
