Forums - Gaming - Why you should own all three consoles

I own the 360/PS3 combo.
The 360 is my console of choice btw. PS3 only for exclusives and Blu-Ray movies.

People owning only 1 console are missing so much...
If you're a kid, I can understand (no money) but being adult and only have 1 machine... it's just stupid.

If you love games, you love games. No fanboy bullshit.

Why not a Wii for me? I'm waiting on the HD version.
480p... I simply can't.

This.

I triple that bolded text! +3

Problem is resources are limited.
For resources I mean time and money ( basically only time because time is money ).

Take decisions are good because is a part of everyone life, you can't have everything all the time.

Nah, 360 is more than enough for everyone.

No it really isn't.

its more then enough. Unlike Wii and PS3, 360 is the only console to get regular PC ports like Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect, Frontlines: Fuel of War, etc.

Ur practically playing 2 systems for the price of one.

But you still cant play games like Brawl (Wii only) and R2 (PS3 only) just to name a few, so no, no really it isn't enough.

Or, I can spin the other way. Why not just use my PC and not get a 360. All the good 360 games are better on PC anyways.

See? I can do it too.

And if you owned a pair or all three, you'd know that you miss out on so much for not owning two or all of the consoles.

This post is going to be about what I like and dislike in each console. It is probably going to be long winded and possible more like a rant but bear with me.

I own all 5 (PS3, 360, Wii, PSP, NDS) so I can say that each one of them has its strangths (exclusives) depends on what you want to play and how.

Most of my friends are shooter fans and most shooters are on 360 so most of my friends have 360s. When I buy a game withmultiplayer that seems interesting to me (I am an RPG fan) I have to think will I be able to play it with my friends?

The other thing that is great about xbox360 is the fact that prices drop on games on 360 faster than ps3.

I think MS was smart by introducing a new console earlier than others.

PS3 exclusives are some of the best games this generation and the only way to have them is via PS3. The same can not be said for the 360 as nearly every single one of them ends up on the PC. Again, if multiplayer is important people will buy 360 and games for 360.

PS3 is "my" favorite console this gen because it is great at everything. Sony does not nickle and dime you to death like the other two consoles.

Gaming on PS3 is unique sometimes because of the content sometimes because of the control. Every new firmware introduces newer ways for you to enjoy the PS3 experience. Remote play, Blu-Ray, full DivX support, Home, six-axis, connectivity with PSP.

The only thing missing is more PS classic games on the PS store so that I may enjoy some great out-of-print games on my PS3 AND PSP.

This is another place where MS is bleeding consumers dry. I have ALWAYS found xbox originals cheaper than the so called xbox original download system. Compare that to typically $6 for PS1 games on the PS3 which can be played on the PSP (granted you have to own one but it is great for people who own both).

Both PSN and XBLA have their exclusives as well however, in general unless you are a shooter fan more (varied) games are available for the casual player on the PSN than on XBLA.

PS3 has TONS of free content, wallpapers, themes etc. Unlike xbox360 which has almost all of them as premium downloads and the free ones LOOK free. I am hoping the premium ones look better.

I don't get why installs on PS3 are getting people mad. Every SINGLE xbox360 owner has "rejoiced" that the new NXE allows them to install games FULLY on the harddrive so that

a) it will run faster
b) it will run quieter

Please kep in mind these are people who have 20 GB of harddrive of which only 13GB is actually available. PLUS 20 GB could have been bought at $99. Now they have increased the capacity to 60GB but PS3 allows you to get 250GB harddrive for $99. With 250GB are you going to still complain about 5-10 minute install?

The other problem is 360 would have had the same requirement were it not for the fact the every 360 is not guranteed to have a HardDrive.

BTW Wii is my least used console and I play a lot of PS2 games (enough said). I am pissed tha every Wii game looks like a PS2 or gamecube port. Gamecube was superior to PS2 but PS2 was king hence gamecube had to suffer with ports that were done on PS2. Now Wii is twice as powerful as gamecube and yet we are still stuck with blurry ps2 graphics. The only 2 games that couldn't be done on gamecube (IMHO) are Metroid prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy.

The crippled online multiplayer NEEDS to go if nintendo is sincere about online multiplayer.

That said, some of the best games are also found on the Wii and only on the Wii.

^ i have all 5 as well and it's pretty much for the same reasons.

xbox 360 - online shooters/exclusives
ps3 - fanboy/exclusives/bluray
wii - exclusives/wife

I own all 5 plus some duplicates...

If you can afford it, it is worthwhile... But, I remember and have been in the situation many on this site have been in... The bank account doesn't match up with the potential purchase list.

I find the Wii is good when non-gaming friends come over, the 360 is good for core gaming, the PS3 has the odd exclusive but isn't worth the price, blu-ray movies are too expensive to collect, the NDS has a huge library, and the PSP is a beautiful portable, but could use more library compared to NDS.

My bf and I own together all the consoles/handhelds of this gen and it's hard to keep up with all the good games coming out. We don't even have time to play them fully and 4 other games comes out. =_='

It's just insane. Sure, in some way, worth getting because you don't miss out on any exclusives but it's just too much games, too little time/money. X_X

Plus, I like to do other stuff too. Like going out for a date *anyone here familiar with this term?* ;)
