All the pictures and proof are there if you follow the link. I didn't feel like leeching the photos as they are probably getting enough bandwidth hits as it is.

What is Jasper? Jasper is an Xbox 360 which supposedly has a 65nm GPU, produces less heat, and is quieter than the Falcon revision. The actual details are sketchy at this time as to what exactly is going on inside the machine, so yeah theres more information to be added about that.

Because this is ultra new, its probably not going to be a reliable bet for anyone to just pick one up for at least a couple of weeks. I suggest people wait for the stock to cycle through the stores before they go looking or they could end up disapointed.

Do these offer much in an improvement in quality, or is it really just cost cutting for Microsoft?

Cost cutting, probably some reliability but revisions give you a reliability boost generally as a rule. Compare early gen PS2s to mid gen PS2s for your answer there.

How could it be more reliable?

Less heat is a good start, electronics which run cooler generally last longer.

Motherboard/Materials as they tweak areas with the highest % chance of failure.

Because the GPU is smaller it should geneate less heat and further reduce the RROD problem.

Falcon was the chocolate cake as far as Xbox reliability is concerned. Jasper is just the icing.

So its not all its cracked up to be, its just another mile marker on the road really.

Good news for non 360 owners

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Finally it took them long enough it was supposed to come out two month ago.

What I meant to say is that production of the Jaspers should have started in August already.
