Well it all started today. Chicago area.
Meijer had a Thanksgiving day sale. Big offers in Video Game space was free Wii workout kit with purchase of WiiFit and Xbox 360 package that included a bonus of Brothers in Arms and play and charge kit given away with any Xbox purchase. Also many games 50% off and bonus Guitar with Rock Band 1 or 2 for Xbox 360 or Wii (Strange not for PS3).
I went in for the Wii Fit promotion and for the Nerf gatlin gun for $25 (Regular $40). Already picked up Wii Fit at Gamestop this week, but the workout kit was a $50 value. Several other people inline were doing the same thing. But we turned out to be 2 far back. They only had 30. We were able to grab 4 of the Nerf guns before they ran out.
Had huge line for the 50% off software deals. Lots of people had Rock Band with the extra controller. They sold out all the Xbox 360 deals as well. Noticed plenty of 360's and Wii's for sale. Didnt notive where the PS3's were kept. Didnt see any PS3s or Wii's in baskets, but several 360's. Noticed one guy who somehow nabbed both the WiiFit bundle and the Xbox 360 Pro bundle, must have had spouse with him Software line was still long when I left.
So draw today was Xbox 360 and Wii Fit. It looked like nearly all the people picking up WiiFit have a Wii purchased already. Also noticed that on way home when I stopped at Jewel (Grocery store) that they are selling Xbox 360 Arcades.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
