Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon PS3 Cancelled, New Trailer Arrives

Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon

Update: THQ has confirmed with Shacknews that the PlayStation 3 version of Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon has indeed been cancelled, citing "development issues." Now an Xbox 360 exclusive, Furon ships to North American retailers on December 1.

It's the second PlayStation-related cancellation for the series in the past year, as the PlayStation 2 version of Locomotive Games' Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed was cancelled back in January. The Wii version was then released in February.

Original: Publisher THQ has released a new trailer for Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon, confirming that Sandblast's final game will arrive next week.

Though Furon was originally announced for both PS3 and Xbox 360, the below trailer only references the Xbox 360 version, with no mention of the PS3 on the game's site.

Furthermore, GameStop is no longer listing the PlayStation 3 version. While Amazon.com shows December 3 release for the PlayStation 3 version, that page also claims the trailer doesn't know "when or if this item will be back in stock," which does not typically appear for products that have a solid release date.

Shacknews is checking with THQ to determine the fate of the PlayStation 3 version

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Weird ...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

I don't know how long such development issues will take. I mean developers had 3 years to get into the developing for the PS3

Nah it alright, not a fan nor interested in the series, for those PS3 owners who do like the series though erm...sorry?

I don't think that developers cannot make the PS3 work. I think it is the cost and time required to make it work as opposed to the expected revenues. Companies I feel are look at the ROI from PS3 projects and saying to themselves that they can't justify it to their shareholders. And if you delay a game to January your sales are expected to fall dramatically because of it so why keep pursuing it.

I think a lot of the tier 2 distributors like THQ are looking at the PS3 and saying they cannot make profit on the box, and will therefore choose to implement on other platforms. Wii being cheapest to developer for but not quite as capable, 360 is capable and affordable to develop for, PS3 as very capable but not affordable to develop for in lower budget, less expected sales projects.

History might look back at the architecture and development tools for the PS3 as a lesson in how electronics power means nothing without having a good way to use it. I find that very unfortunate because PS3 specs are very promising.

Maybe it's a good thing they intend to have a 10 year plan. By then, perhaps it'll be more viable to develop for the PS3 since it seems more and more that developers are ditching them.

So... One title less shovelware?

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Game gets canceled for PS3 that few care for?

Could be a win for Sony in some vague, strange way.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

meh, it is not a good series in my opinion anyway. It would have been just another multi-plat game which i dont buy.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st
