So there you have it and i think from those numbers you can pretty much see that all consoles have fallen quite a lot from sales this time last year. You can see the biggest fall was the PS3 which fell almost 50% on numbers last year.

In my view the fact the consoles are all down in sales and the PS3 is down 50% almost means the race for this Gen is now officially over. The Wii has won but is now selling a lot less. The 360 came 2nd but is selling a lot less. And PS3 is 3rd and selling a lot less. There is no chance the 360 will catch the Wii with the gap what it is and there is very little chance the PS3 can increase sales by 100% and expect the 360 to drop sales by 100% to catch it, that wont happen.

This week last year included black friday...

Ah im english so did not know that, for some reason i always thought Black Friday was like in the last few days of november i.e 27th or something.

Black Friday is always the Friday after Thanksgiving...which I believe is always the fourth Thursday of November.

Not really. The thread is correct. Those numbers are all true. The problem is as pointed out Black friday was 1 of those days. If the ratio of numbers we have this week continue into next week then the % drops could still be the same seeing as the PS3 only posted a 91k this week compared to a sale of 176k for the week before Black friday last year. Meaning it still dropped around 50%....

Ratios may be valid, but saying it's a drop from last year is not, as last years included the start of the holiday season and this year does not. Even the ratios are suspect, as I know of some PS3 specials this year for black Friday, but not aware of as much specials for wii/360. In other words, PS3 shoppers could be waiting for Friday.

Those numbers dont seem correct. When I pull up sales from last year this is what I find for USA.

Week before Black Friday week
Wii 288,779
360 167,768
PS3 96,546

2 weeks before Black Friday week.
Wii 158,415
360 138,345
PS3 79,539

Black Friday week
Wii 440,804
360 274,861
PS3 175,137

Last year 2 weeks to 1 week percentage change
Wii gained 82%, 360 and PS3 both gained 21%

This year 2 weeks to 1 week percentage change
Wii dropped 2%, 360 gaines 27% and PS3 gained 15%

From week before to Black Friday week last year
Wii gained 53%, 360 gained 64% and PS3 gained 82%

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

My jaw dropped untill I read that black Friday was a part of this.

Epic fail indeed haha.
