The 360 is at the price point where PS2 people are getting on board. The PS2 is making money for Sony now. If the 360 starts eating into PS3 AND PS2 sales, Sony winds up in a world of hurt.

Good point, I find it amazing the PS2 is still selling. But I could only imagine that the arcade is looking mighty sexy to the PS2 crowd of last gen.

So what you expected for Xbox 360?
It frikkin costs 189€.
vs 479e.
=290€.
You can buy both PSP and Ds with it.
Or buy Xbox 360 and Wii.
Parents are going "o my son needs that console which should I buy"? Hmmm Ps3 479€ geez or hmm XBox 360 for 189€.
Hmmm.
Hmm.

you blame MS for offering a equivalent product for a better price? I don't get your frustration. Are you angry, because the competition is cheaper? Well MS is profitable with a 170€ SKU, Sony is not, with 400€.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

The best thing to come out of the low PS3 sales, is that no one will dare launch a console for over $400 next generation.

 LOL, so true.

You mean compared to the tropical island paradise situation they're in now?

My god, if the PS3 can't even sell over 100k at the end of November they might even make their ridiculously low target number. The real issue for Sony is that everyone that buys a 360 is a lost costumer.

wii numbers drop? so either stores hoarding for black friday or consumers waiting for black friday

The wii is IN STOCK at every retailer right now, so i doubt the retailers are holding anything back.

Maybe wii sales are slowing down,

Hard to believe i put a console that sold more than 300k and the words "slowing down" together

Amazon stopped selling them a few days ago. Walmart only has expensive bundles on their website. Target's site is out of stock too I think.

Yeah, this is telling a different story:

If these ratios follow suit into the next 3 weeks then the PS3 is done for in terms of chasing 2nd place. The momentum is well and truely with the 360 now and the PS3 is struggling to keep up to those numbers.

Next week is make or break for the console in my book. It can't sustain losing 200k+ a week. I really now do think next week could potentially see a 300k-500k gap in just US with black friday sales. So if that does happen would mean the 360 will have sold more then the PS3 in 2008 worldwide. Going into next year with Europe selling more 360's then before and Japan selling more 360's then before puts the PS3 in an even worse position then it is now.

People think that soon as the clock hits 12am for the 1st of 09 the PS3 will magically go back to selling more then the 360. It wont happen. It needs something to dent the momentum the 360 is having and a small price cut wont do that, killzone 2 wont do that. The casual market is now what is driving 360 sales as it is dirt cheap. The PS3 cannot get to that market unless it goes as cheap as the 360. That wont happen.

So while these are good numbers and the 360 has done really well i think next week will be better. Selling potentially 300k-600k more worldwide in 1 week over the PS3.

Whoow! Microsoft's strategy is definitely working! 200k difference is quite something... That's 1/5 of what the PS3 gained in on X360's lead in the last year gone in 1 week! Ouuch! As for Wii, it'll blow up massively during the next two weeks in America! Although we shouldn't be complaining about 350k a week, because those numbers are quite something!

DS will break a new record for American sales in 1 month I guess, or atleast it will in December. And Wii will for home-consoles! I'm guessing just above the 2 million, if the stock is there!
