i'm loving the Sony hate in this thread. It's 2007 all over again.
the fact that 90k people went and bought this expensive machine is shocking when the 360 is clearly a better choice at the moment.
I cant wait to see how much the 360 is going to sell this holiday, it is impressive the numbers they are putting on. Good job MS.

What does it matter?
What's really to be gained from being a far distant second while failing to post a consistent profit or put up strong sales in all regions outside of the holiday season?

Wooh DS really ramping up. All but Wii go up from last week but more than likely some wii shipments from last week are being held by retailers for Black Friday which would have stopped the traditional increases with the others. Anyways like E/O, software should be pretty beastly this week.

With the 360 likely winning again in 2008 and all the publishers in full support of the 360 it is likely the following occurs:
At the end of 2008 the 360 will have a 7 million lead over the PS3. More peoples friends will have 360's and this will cause the lead to grow (even with Sony dropping $100 sometime in 2009 and the 360 only dropping $50). These things tend to build on themselves. Add to this that consumers are growing less and less fearful of the RRoD because of Falcon and Jasper 360's. Add to this the availability of Blu-Ray players under $200 and propably under $150 (other than Black Friday) by mid 2009.
The 360 basically will have a 10 million seller every year in Xbox Live. The majority of renewals happen right about this time of year. MS is going to have a great 2nd quarter (MS fiscal year).
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
