Not to mention, the Wiimote probably has yet to have its own potential realized

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made. I won't open my unworthy mouth.

I agree with some of the peeps in here, they should have seriously sold it with some exorcise game :P I swear to gosh man, if it came with a game that would help me form some tai chi, I'd be all over that thing ^^ and for it's cost, super cheap!

I played Eye toy. Not to shabby. But seriously, don't try to compete with The Wii when it comes to innovation. Unless it's graphics related. Ps3 wins there. Hands down.
I had an Eye Toy for the PS2 way back.
It's pretty fun. Who would have though washing windows can become a gameplay mechanic.
Still, the gripe I had with it is that I had to adjust the camera for every type of game, and when player changes (height factor, etc). Would have been great if combo'ed with a remote or wireless controller.
The biggest problem with it is that games for Eye Toy were party oriented. You'd look stupid playing it alone. And no game (and developer) took it seriously, well, except for the game Antigrav. Almost all games were casual types.
The eyetoy isn't even the same thing as the Wiimote. Sure, it would be if you took away the nunchuk, all the buttons, the IR pointer, the speaker, vibration and motion plus, but you wouldn't, because the Wiimote can do all that stuff and the eyetoy can't.
Another thing to consider is that the Wiimote/Nunchucks can be used with four people no problem. Try setting the eyetoy up for 4 people simultaneously, assuming you could even fit 4 people in the frame, I doubt the data could be processed accurately.
@Fishy, yeah I can agree with that statement in full :P Definitely not with the current form of Eyetoy.
We'll have to see how they do it with the next iteration. If it ships with the PS4, they they could have you mount that somewhere and just base it off that. But who knows :P

I don't know, I hate the word potential, it was such a trend word two years ago and the disgust with hearing it within my field or any field is insurmountable in me.
It's either it does something or it doesn't do something, I don't fork up $600 for potential.
This is basically doubt marketing on part of Sony I guess, to put doubt that a product does something better than the other, when really it accomplishes the exact same thing.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.
