It seem the world of "hardcore gamers" if you can call it are crumbling. Seem the blue ocean almost washed the hardcores away that theyre too desperate right now. Thank goodness Im in the new world right now if you can call it its over IGN, Ninty won. Dont convince more gamers to agree with your opinon, the "so called" hardcore gamers are fastly diminishing right now. Just review the game by the Wii for what it is and not just bitching and whining because it didnt passed your standards. YES, Wii play and Wii Fit outsold or will outsold Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 or even Killzone 2 and COD 4 PS360 versions DEAL WITH IT.

What makes you think that the world of "hardcore" gamers is crumbling? If you mean by hc-gamer a gamer who likes those games you mentioned I guess I am one fo them then. I really fail to see what wii fit has to do with my gaming. There is room for both wii fit and halo/gears crowd. It may not seem like it for you, but you should take a look at the sales of those "hardcore" games on 360 and in most cases, ps3 too. I am very happy with what kind of games I am getting, are you?

And dont forget Carnival games and Mario and Sonic if this is where we're going then Im with it. As long as its not another FPS or shooters. Im sick of it. and as far as the gaming goes if Ninty didnt intefere the games will become fewer and fewer with only few genres. Its already happening, just look at the sales of Mirror's edge compared to the sales of COD: WAW a original game just didnt sell as it used to. If EA develop it for the Wii they could just make profit for it for what its worth...

YEAH, Im talking to the halo crowd but you misunderstood me, what Im talking are the graphic whores and the ones that always plays shooters and licensed sports games and always wants blood and violence on games. That kind of hardcore. Theres too much games like that in HD consoles already...

There are Wii owners who still anticipating The Conduit so there are room for shooters, but the ones that done by SONY and MS? No room most of these games are always in graphics and physics that the essence to play these games wasnt there anymore... And yeah, I like Black on the PS2 so doesnt mean I dont like FPS or shooters...

P.S. YES, the hardcore gamer as we knew it, if you can call it was crumbling. The sale figures proves it. I mean is it odd that most PS360 games are million sellers and yet it only have small userbase? Weird is it not? I'll explain it later...

Uh, now I don't get you. Why would someone who are graphic whores and the ones "who always plays shooters and so on" care about the sales of wii fit? Those people are most likely playing on other consoles. I can't see why they would be affected by the game sales on wii.

No room for shooters for ps3/360? Take a look at the sales number at the front page. What, are you saying that there is no gameplay on sony/ms titles?

shit that's awesome.  I knew about all these games but seeing them on 1 page really puts it into perspective.  Tons of great games on that list, can't wait.  Some probably won't come out in 09, but there will be many games still to be announced so it should actually grow bigger.

I think I will nominate "hardcoregamer" as the "worst word of the year". I'm sure it has a chance to succeed :).

Let me be the first to say that Wii's 09 lineup is just as good as that of the HD consoles (exclusives atleast...).

I'm with trestres on 08 though. The absolute worst year of any console I've ever owned. 2 games worth buying this year. Yes, TWO. And they weren't even that great.

As a core gamer myself I am very pleased with what Nintendo has put on Wii (SMG, MKWii, SSBB, MP3: Corruption, LoZ:Twilight Princess)and I do not think they have lost 'hardcore gamers'. So I disagree with this IGN article.
