Crisis Core is a good combination of action and RPG. Its really fast-paced, and would hold anyone's interests. No turns or anything like that. Its a blast to play.
Do you like survival horrors? Silent Hill: Origins is great.
Do you like side-scrollers? Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles is a lot of fun.
The Syphon Filter games are supposed to be really good.

Jeanne D'arc must buy it is strategy rpg so not like the average rpg maybe you like that
but Daxter is just 20 dollars or les it had a lot of good reviews and friends of mine are very happy with it
