Yet another trip to bestbbuy, and I wasnt suprised I knew it was to be expected, there were easily 100 wii's in the store, I can say there were as many ps2's as there were wii's. The place was flooded with the console.

(Also got to see the iphone3g, amazing phone, hopefully I will get it for  chrismas)

Now for the wii experience, before I actually went to play it I saw a MAN with his kid having fun, it was like the kid which was 4 years old wasnt even interested in video games, but the mad got the wii mote, and forced him to play. I was shocked the man seemed very old, but it was ok, he was getting the kid to play video games.

So I decided to let them play the wii, and I checked out the box for the wii, I wanted to see what exactly on the wii attracts consumers, is it the box? Well let me just say, it certainly isnt the box(despite seeing a french women with her husband looking at the wii's box for nearly half an hour, yes half an hour this is no exaggeration) out of the 3 consoles the wii's box is just horrid, I understand nintendo isnt trying to advertise on the box with any games, since the thing is selling like crazy, but still it would be nice, the back just showed some mii's in wii sports, like 4 small bubbles, and the rest was a white box, and the front showed the wii obviously, the box felt like it was made of very bad/cheap material.

So I decided to play guitar hero 3(ps3), and a man walked by and asked me, so rockband or guitar hero, I said rockband for family, guitar hero for single player(they hadnt received world tour yet). The man then told me a very FUNNY, and ironic statement,I heard its selling like crazy, thats one of the reasons im buying it. Guess what I thought of at that moment? Your right the wii..

So I went to play the wii, game inside was MARIO KART WII. I am going to say, the wii has dissapointed me, out of the 3 consoles, the wii's menu system is by far the worse, by far the most visually depressing (I WAS PLAYING IN 480P), by far the worst organized. I went on to mario kart to play, and the visuals were deppressing, the gameplay wasnt even close to being fun(Id rather play Mario kart DS for DAYS than play the wii version), the pathetic use of motion control was so horrid, I had to chance it to analog control, and it didnt help much at all. I couldnt play the wii, I thought to myself is this what people are buying?

I went to the wii section, flooded with people, atleast 20 people I can say, many buying wii's, many buying "CARS", "CARNIVAL GAMES", and "WII PLAY", I was very saddened to see this, I tried to see what they were saying in the wii, I was playing the same exact thing the man and the kid were playing, it was just horrible.

Im going to say this, so far out of my experience in gaming, the wii has been the worst console Ive ever played in my life, I went on to the XBOX 360, and I liked it, didnt like the dashboard, but I liked it, the game I played (GEARS 2) was fun, it looked good, it was a great experience, despite my hate for microsoft, it made me want to buy a console from them. The wii just made me want to  go away into a corner, and not play video games.

Why are people buying it? Why are people enjoying it? Is it because its selling that they are buying it? Is it because its being hyped as the best selling thing? I need ot know WHAT is grabbing people towards the wii.

So with this I say, my wii experience in best buy was not a good one.

MY PSP exerpience in BEST buy was horrible, honestly I tried to play FF VII CC, but YOU CANT SKIP THE FREAKING INTO CUTSCENE, I was so bored by it, I wanted to get to the gampleay, and the gameplay seemed so repetitive, you press X a million times without even looking and there you won the battle.

So thats just my opinion on what I experienced, maybe you guys like the wii for something, or its your only console and have yet to experience something that might actually be better(atleast in my opinion, and in my experience).

You know. I perfer the Wii Menu system to the PS3s.

It's just... quicker.

Turn on the system, and everything you need is right on the first screen mostly unless you have a low of downloadble games, and if you do it's a couple quick flicks.

Rather then having to go from menu to slow menu.

Of course I also am one of those people that has a few dozen shortcut items on their desktop. 

Me i like stuff being as quick as possible.

Also... the Wii is just fun. 

That's why people buy it. 

Sorry if you don't get it... but most people do.

i play to get the wii for my 5 year old nephew since the kid fights with me over my 360 lols, and of course he likes mario and all that cute stuff so my problem will soon be solved, no more my nephew crying in background fighting me to play on my 360 while i'm in a middle of a boss fight.

I atually came in first place, it was very easy, Im not saying its HARD to play, Im just saying its not satisfying, The controls were very simple, too simple, there was no fun in it for me. No here is the thing, I have a blast playing mario kart ds, why not the wii game?

I dont understand, and you guys seem to be playing a completely different system, you guys treat it as if its the best console you have, I just dont see whats happening here.

Also, kasc the XMB is not slow.. the wii menu is point and click, whats faster, pressng X, or poiting towards the game, and clicking it twice.

Not that it matters, for either system its simple to get into a game.

A four year old can play Mario Kart. Give the system a chance play some games like Brawl, No More Heroes and countless other games. Sit down with the system and you will understand why people enjoy it.
