Forums - PC - PC Gamer gives GTA IV PC 92%

Thought the PC gamers would be interested in this. pretty OK review actually.

A user called daxlax at GTAForums has posted a mini-summary of a new (6-page) review by PC Gamer UK:

  • Keyboard and Mouse feels effortless to drive with, there seems no issues with this combo in general (mouse obviously being brilliant to aim with).
  • Wall hugging bugs from console has made it to PC - When up against certain walls or cars you still sometimes can’t always peak around to shoot which causes some frustration to the player.
  • Bizarre decision has been made regarding multiplayer - You need to log into Rockstar’s Social club AND Windows Live to be be able to log into the game online.
  • Game looks amazing with a Dual Core and a 8800 card. It did have some major framerate wobbles, “nothing fatal though” insists the reviewer.
  • The game scored 92% and also got the “MUST BUY” badge.

I’ll try picking up this magazine over the weekend and confirming much of this information by within it

Also expect more reviews from magazines and websites within the next 7-10 days

I consider myself a PC gamer, and it warms my heart that this version looks great.

Yeah I like the PC gaming myself.

Unfortunatley my own PC is not up to scratch for the newer games.

I think 9600GT based cards are sellling for ~$100, and one of those would be more than enough for GTA4.

Man are the specs for this game high

Based on the newest screenshots i saw for the PC version i would say the specs are not very high. It looked almost the exact same as the console version.

They are very high. Go look it up.

Good to see reviewers finally accepting that they were wrong to review the console version so high

recommended processor is quad core

They are very high because Rockstar are very poor programmers.

I have no intention of buying the game unless they added back in the two dozen or so features that have been removed from past GTA games. Maybe after modders have had a year or two to make it into a good game.
