for now it is starcraft but for now its mostly because xbox is focusing on the games now instead of next year. There are a few games you dont really hear of (too human, mystwalkers other rpg) and a few others that no one hears about cause we hear about the games coming this year

there is no doubt that sony has a pretty good lineup just as good if not alot better then xbox for now but who knows.

I to believe mgs4 will eventually defect as long as sells of ps3 remain like they are, i can maybe (slightly) see ff 13 coming over if the following happen:

1 Rpgs sell well on xbox 360 (blue dragon, eternal sonota, lost odyssey) mostly if lost odyssey does well since it is alot like final fantasy it could really show square that xbox fans do want a good rpg and it will sell well.

2 in spring when last remnant comes out it has a very large sales on xbox and makes a good profit because of this

3 if playstation fanbase doesnt increase square might go multi if the following above occur, and profits dont cut it on playstation 3 alone (which i dont see a problem unless it requires more then 4 million it could be expected to sell on playstation

I agree those things could get SE to dev more games for 360 but it might happen too late for them to give MS FFXIII.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Around the Network

I love the 360... Xbox live is awesome. I download demos, TV shows and movies.

As well, I stream all of my videos, photos and music from my xbox to my home theater. That means that I can listen to any CD that has ever been placed in my laptop. Also, it processes the photos better then the laptop, so they look better!

The catalogue of games is great. I want a PS3, but just cannot justify it given the limited games. This coming from someone who payed $875 for his 360 at launch.

I was also a big sucker for the achievements. I actually joined gamefly for achievements only and ended up finding and liking a bunch of games I wouldn't have otherwise.

I like how the gamer card can follow you online to your myspace page or forum sigs.

I also like the controller of the 360. I've always disliked the control sticks from sony, and I like FPS's which require well placed stix like the 360 has.

Now a console shouldn't break... But when I got the RROD my console had a 2 day turnover.

Very true, it all depends on ps3 sells mostly, and if ms did miss ff13 maybe they would give a few months later who knows or give xbox versus

o that and depends on release date, they are moving really slowly on ff13

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I have one core, 2 premos, and one elite 360. (Updated the core to add the HD, bought 3 wireless controllers, and 2 racing wheels).

I think that XBox 360 has the widest variety of games on this generation of consoles. Short on family side, but still there (Will improve with Naruto, Beautiful Katamari, Viva Pinata Party Animals, and Eternal Sonata). FPS and racing seems to be the lead genres of 360 although the others are good as well. Especially RPG with Lost Oddyssey and Mass Effect this year.

Also, 360 seems to be the only nextgen console with an RTS (C&C3) and more are on the way this Xmas (World in Conflict, and multi-platform Quake Wars). And an MMO in FFXI (More are on the way).

As for warranties I have mostly heard great news... People get RRoD and within a few days of sending their console it is back fixed. The same cannot be said for the store "extended warranties" that people bought... They send it and it is back in three weeks.

I think the price point is good, especially with the new price drop.

And going forward, it seems there is a lot more 3rd party support in Japan rising (But, I am not in Japan so it is mostly speculation on heard news). Most, of the games outside of Sony and Nintendo's first party releases are also being released on 360 so we are not feeling left out. Except MGS4 (I didn't say that to get thread comments on whether or not it is coming)...

The Live network is great. I have friends who have moved to different cities and we play Live games together all the time. It has continued to keep us friends even though we are not around each other anymore.

Achievements are fun as they help add direction to your gaming if you want it...

The marketplace is great. Try before I buy demos are good, and Live Arcade has a large selection of titles that keeps growing for a decent cost.

Looking forward to video downloads in Canada to see what else is offered.

And I just got my Vista PC working with the multimedia sharing stuff on 360 and it is stunning. Now I can display my digital photos, play my music library, and many videos over the network from my main server to the 4 - 360's I have on each TV in the house.

Of course there are cons, but I have really enjoyed the experience so far and think for the cost, I have found good value. The only real disappointment so far is the HD DVD thing. Better then regular DVD but I don't think the cost is justified. I may be missing something, but I think it is a way for hollywood to make more money and has nothing to do with the consumer who for the most part just wants to see their favourite cinematic flick and doesn't give a rat's ass about the extra features / resolution support.

I am also looking forward to the keyboard snap on for the controller... I hate that onscreen thingy.

yes neo i agree completely xbox has the best variety at this point and xbox live is great. I also agree that the ring of death needs to go away from every microsoft hater and sony fanboy because microsoft is doing a decent job with fixing it. Had a friends xbox break a little while back and he got it back within a week or so (really matters where you live)

And as for the hddvd thing i agree, untill this format war is over im prob not going to buy either or if they lower price on hd dvd since its cheaper then blue ray. At this point not really one of them is winning (mostly blue ray but with micro/universal at hd dvds back could be going for a while)
