Interesting though how much free stuff they're bundling with the PS3 |
I doubt it.. the ps3 is a blu-ray player, but I really doubt stand alone players are being outsold by hd dvd. |
i think stand alone hd dvd players are outselling stand alone blu ray players by 3 to 1. I dont think this would be the case if the ps3 didnt include a blu ray player. A very large percentage of people who want a blu ray player buy the ps3, so i think the stand alone sales are very misleading. |
and of course, counting all PS3 sales would be equally misleading, since not all of them are used as blu-ray players. Interestingly, it seems to be the same conundrum as with whether to count Wii Sports as Software sales. It's unfair to count them but it's also unfair to not count them. Sales of the movies themselves are probably a better indicator, and I believe BD has the lead there. |
They are used as blu-ray players... |
well not everyone who bought a ps3 would have bought a blu ray player, but they will buy blu ray dvd's instead of normal dvd's and they would be stupid to buy a hd dvd player, so i think its less misleading to count ps3 as a blu ray player than it is to just count stand alone players.
