I would've gone with Gears 2 overall or LBP for its physcis. I don't find GTA IV to be technically impressive at all.

GTAIV has a MUCH more robust physics engine than LBP.  Sure the systems you can set up with LBP are very intricate (i dont take the now famous calculator or other accomplishments for granted) but creating physics for a 2-d world is quite simply not as complicated as one in 3 dimensions.

The physics engine for GTAIV isn't rockstar's though, is it?

This is all getting a bit complicated.

Just give it to WiiFit.

mgs4. Nothing like the octocamo and having all the camo's in 90% of cutscenes as well

How does that even begin to be a technical achievement?

And The Biggest Technical Achievement Award goes to....

Wii Sports.

Motion Control. It's that simple.

Future videogame gens (8th, 9th, 10th etc.) will stand on Wii Sports' shoulders. Technical Achievement is in no way limited to gfx. The mid-90's 3D "Revolution", and motion controls is core innovation at its best. It impacts the future.
