Forums - Gaming Discussion - Direct x 10 outdated?

A new type of way to produce graphics, on a console has been annouced to be on the playstationthree console with the potential of its spu's, this is possibly a new way to develop graphics to the level that directx 10 can produce, or even more powerful. Here is the link of what I have found, and we might be seeing games that look even better than crisis on the ps3..

making it dramatic hehehe, but this is a new way to develop graphics, which will try to take more than 50% use of the spu's theoraticly there's a chance that the ps3 can produce games looking as great as crysis.

nevermind

I hate to crash your hopes Leo, but no matter what PS3 does its graphics are not going to be better than that of a high end PC. Especially with the SLI technology becoming widespread and ram becoming cheaper and cheaper.

Short answer no it cant, the reason is "lack of Ram and VRam..."

DX10 and DX10.1 is going to be outdated, once OpenGL Mt. Evans is released. OpenGL will always be way stronger then DX, always. DX10 already has a hard time competing against OpenGL Longs Peak.
