After 8.5 Months (including initial launch demand) the PS3 has sold less than 4 Million consoles worldwide. Sony has 7 Million systems to sell in 8 months to have sold 11 Million consoles by March 2008; we will ignore their projection of 11 Million consoles sold from March 07 to March 08. If we assume that they sell 3 Million consoles in November and December 07 that still leaves sony with 4 Million consoles to sell in 6 months, or approximately 666,666 consoles every month; being that Sony is currently selling close to 250,000 consoles every month I don't see how this is possible.

At best Sony will have 9 Million consoles sold to end users as of March 31st 2008

Some people just dont see the past the first few months.Sales for PS3 are going to pick up and sales for Wii will either stay at the same point for 1year or will start to decline until they around 30k a week X360 will continue to drop and nothing will save it after the end of 07 its a lost cause against the Wii or PS3.

 Sony will sell 8.5million-9.5million by the end 07(these sales to CONSUMERS not RETAILERS).Then with MGS4 for an early 08 release which means Jan/Feb/Mar will boost sales to about 10.5million-11.5million so 11million by end of Fiscal Year is quite possible

In 5 months the PS3 is going to sell 4.5 to 5.5 Million systems? If you assume a high but reasonable 3 Million consoles in November and December that still leaves 1.5 to 2.5 Million consoles to be sold in August, September and October which seems amazingly high; the PS3's sales would have to double and stay at that level in every region in the world.

What evidence is there that Wii sales would decline? We're ten months from launch and supply is still its biggest limiting factor by far. Sales are far more likely to increase in the second year, when you consider increased production alone.

 So what the DS has been around for 2years blah blah blah.Consoles and Handhelds are different. Will parents buy handhelds?yes they will cheap,games that are aimed at them.Will parents buy a console?yes BUT only for their kids you wont find a grandparent buying a Wii for themselves and very few parents will buy them for themselves because homeconsoles have always been viewed as a children/student thing not a parent thing or any person over 40 really except really hardcore gamers.And Soriku everyone is entitled to their own oppinion just because it doesnt agree for your thinking there is no need to insult people who dont think the same way as you.

And no, they won't sell-through 11m by the end of 07 or by Mar 08. 8m by 07 is about the highest I can reasonably go, and they're not going to break 1m/month in the Q1 of '08. MGS4 is one game, not ten, and its surge effect, like all big releases, will be limited to one big week and two to three medium weeks.
