it's a slow process for Wii to pass 360 during non-holiday months. I would imagine it would pass 360 sometime in late 2008.

If it happens -- and I'm not sure it will -- it will be 2009.

Actually I think the Wii will gain more ground on the 360 during the non holiday months than during the holidays. There is a chance that the Wii won't make any distance on the 360 during the holidays due to supply issues.

When factoring in the Xmas period, it makes things more difficult as we don't know how well supplied the Wii will be.


If the Wii gains 1 million units on the X360 during the holiday season, it would decrease the time frame to not long after the holidays. A gain of only 500,000 units would place the time to early Spring.

It all depends on how much Nintendo can expand the market. Can they get more people interested in the Wii than in the previous years. Fitness people, women into yoga, old people. Can the Wii really become an everyday activity like afternoon TV. I feel the PS3 and the 360 have more limits than the Wii. Those systems may hit PS2 numbers but it will probably be unlikely. We don't know what the Wii's limit is yet. It could stop at 50 million or it could hit 200 million.
