The way I see it, religion is a way for people to fill the holes of their knowledge or explain what they can't explain..

i don't want to cause any flame wars but creation is a belief with no evidence to support it except a book a guy put together 1000 years after the stories were written..

So I just don't believe in that.. I also cannot follow something blindly.. so yah..

Creation has as much evidence as evolution.

There is still a missing link from monkey to man and until/if they find that link evolution will always remain a theory.

And plus creation doesn't necessarily mean that the Earth and humans were created in 7 days like it says in the Bible. The true meaning of it is that at some point humans were given a soul which distinctivly seperates us from animals. Evolution could be in fact true but what the true meaning of the Bible is, is that humans have a soul which gives us the ability to think and take decisions unlike animals who always follow their instinct.

You bet, there are just too many things that point towards the fact that a superior being exists to not believe. (To me anyways)

People always say this but rarely do I see any of them offer any argument that supports their claim logically.

How does something start from nothing?

You're a specist. You think animals don't have souls... Animals can choose as much as we can.

Than why are we not allowed to marry our dogs, I mean when I call my dog she chooses to follow me, clearly if she makes that choice than she can decide to marry me also.

Nope. I believe people find purpose where there is none, and find utility for things that have none, personify things that are completely indifferent, and give meaning to things that simply are without a why.

I believe things are what you make of them, and the purpose of life is what you give it. Things do not have meaning except that which you assign them, and you are only what you make of yourself.

I believe nature is too indifferent at best and too cruel at worst, the planet too inhospitable, the universe too random for their to be any god like religious texts describe. Our own existence is statistical inevitability, not providence.

Amazing post, exactly what i think.

Plus, the world and the universe aren't perfect, not even remotely close.

And no and no to the thread questions

Society says we're not allowed to marry dogs, only reason why we can't marry dogs legally. If we were in society with less considered taboo, you could marry your dog, though it wouldn't be fully consentual. Dogs don't know what marriage is. It could choose to be with you, and love you like a mate, it could lick your sausage and take it in her rump, but it could not marry you, because you couldn't communicate the idea. The same way you couldn't marry a native girl you found, if she couldn't speak. But, with advancing tecnology we may one day be able to communicate ideas with dogs and receive them back...

You can marry your dog, it just won't be reconinzed by the state, but who cares? Your love with make it through all barriers. Hope you find happiness with your furry companion. :')

I thank thee for the wishes of happiness but there is only one problem.

The only tings my dog does is sleep, go to backyard(kinda like bathroom for us), eat, drink and sometimes runs. Hopefully when we will be married she will learn to cook and could possibly start a part time job (she would have to stay at home with the kids but she would still have to do her share of paying off the debts we may have) and hopefully she will live long enough to see me turn 30.

If only dogs could get jobs. Unfortunatly there's no education for them, and no jobs for them. They could do physical labor, right?

Even that though, last Tuesday after we came back from a game of Bingo (which unfortunately she ended up eating her stamp card) she informed me that her stomach was hurting pretty bad after a quick visit to the vet we found out that eating your own crap for three years doesn't always pays off (I guess some of us learn the hard way) hopefully though she will be able to  apply for worker's comp and finally buy that car she has always wanted. Of course she would have to learn to put her seat belt on before she could get her license but I'm sure she will learn inside 5 months if we train very intensly.

Everything. The fact that everything is here is fact that it was somewhere sometime in the past. It didn't come out of a giant billy goats ass.

If everything has always been here then how does the Big Bang make any sense since The Big Bang theory clearly shows that before the Big Bang there was nothing?

I do not believe in God because I am ignorant. I believe in God because it makes sense to me. I concurrently believe in evolution and God.
