Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sega article from 1986...

To keep things into perspective, since 4GB is becoming a norm for PC's now, 1MB then was like 16 GBytes now.

Reading this now is extremely funny!

Wonder if we will be laughing at 20GB's 15 years from now... probably will :)

Keep in mind, 1MB was huge back in 1986.

First Amiga, Amiga 1000 had only 256KB-s of RAM, and so did PC's back then.

My goodness.

Now 1 gig of RAM is ancient.

ROFL

To put this into prospective:

I asked my 9yr old what an "8 Track" was...

He had no idea.

I asked him what a "Cassette Tape" was...

He had no idea.

When I explained to him what they were, he laughed, turned on his MP3 and walked away.

People will laugh at Terra Flops in the not to distant future....

ah... I remember my Tandy HX1000 with 256k or Ram and a 3.5inch floppy drive... I use to dream of upgrading it to the awsome 640k so I could play Kings Quest 5

Thank you for posting this. Twas a good read.

As Bill Gates said: "640K ought to be enough for anybody."

640k was the maximum amount of memory that could be used by DOS.
