I bought an plasma LG 42' PC1D for my wii. I 'm happy with it. Great natural colours. Really. you can find it for less than 1000 $.
Wii looks absolutely stunning through my 42" Plasma, Especially with it's component cable. IMO Plasmas look better then LCD, my mate plays his Wii through an LCD and he's jealous of how much better mine looks.
And I've had my Plasma for a year and never had a burn in problem, my Plasma and the Wii have in-built features to prevent it.
I payed $2,400 for it.

It really depends on the model. The Sharp Aquos gets richer blacks than comparably priced Plasmas.

It looks like people are satisfied with Wii + HD TV combo... Seriously I'm not biased right now. It did look bad. Maybe you just haven't seen how sharp graphics should be...

Your prices are pretty low. I've spent almost ~$850 on my 23" LCD... It's pretty well equipped though (4000:1, 8ms, 2 HDMI, PIP...)
42PX3RV It's best feature is how it can split itself up into multiple screens and shift them where you like, it's funny once my gf was watching a movie and out no-where BAM a little screen appears on some dudes head with Final Fantasy on it. LOL.
I play my Wii on a 42 inch Samsung Plasma (does 720p) with component cables. I got it on sale for $1200 around the time of the Super Bowl last year (always the cheapest time to buy TVs). It plays Wii games beautifully. And this is why I waffle...lol....How about ambient light reflection on the Plasmas....do u have to have it completely dark to not see reflection?

Okay, this one I have some experience with. My friend has a 42 in. Samsung plasma and I can say for sure that the 42 inch Aquos LCD looks better on all fronts.
