Forums - Gaming - Will Mirror's Edge bomb?

Considering the hype surrounding the game at the begining, it now appears as though the people who played this game are no longer spellbound. If you look at the reviews for it, 80 and 79 average for it on the ps3 and x360 respectively.

I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!

Should reach a million combined, but I don't expect that great of sales.

There was never really that much hype to begin with.
It doesn't appear to be very good
It'll reach 1 million combined easily, but nowhere near that on either console.

Also, it's made by EA.

Heavy marketing helped elevate Assassin's Creed past the myriad of average reviews, and it should do the same for this game to an extent. I don't mean Mirror's Edge will be a huge hit, because it doesn't have nearly the hype that AC did, but it should keep the sales healthy this X-Mas. Maybe 1.5 million.

It's a new IP. What is with people attacking new IPs lately.....

Its not that you can't say anything about them but you compare them to breakout hits like gears and god of war its ridiculous, and you think less than 1 million week one is a flop.

Mirror's Edge suffered from the fact that it was revealed only 6 months ago.  AC was revealed like 2 years before being released.

i don't think it will bomb in overall sales but the timing is not right for it for good 1st week sales with cod5 and all
i think 1 mill for ps3 a year or 2 from now is not out of the question though

.... when is AC 2 coming out anyway?

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

I'm guessing it'll bomb (relatively speaking). The game was released this week and already you can get it for $40-$45 brand new on Ebay. That means there's plenty of supply, but not as much demand.

People are wondering if Mirror's Edge will bomb because it had more marketing than normal games, I don't see many game commercials on tv so any game that has one seems special.

I think it will do ok but not very good since there are lots of games coming or already out now.
