 Problem is they are making too much money from selling the PS2 and losing too much money on the PS3, they would also lose more money on the PS3 if they included the hardware for backwards compatibility.

I can't see them adding BC back into the PS3 until they are making significant profits on the PS3 hardware at a mass market pricepoint, it will just lose them too much money otherwise.
