Meh not a big deal. The majority if people will ignore the channel anyways. They just wanna use it for in game voice chat.

I hope later theres a cool looking 3rd party mic for Wii though. Im not buying this because no game Im looking forward too is using it yet. Still cant wait till one does. Voice chat should be fun.

What the heck kind of idea is this! They are preventing you from playing games if you buy a used WiiSpeak. That's low, horrid way to curb the extent the used market grows. Lame, treacharous and greedy... What are the unfortunate supposed to do if they go through the mistake of buying a used WiiSpeak? Their Wiis will become dust collectors for sure! What's next? Pray at the altar of Iwata/Reggie/Some other leader or be robbed by the nintendo army?

I fear for what this world could become... A dark fear...

So... What does the Wii speak channel actually do? Let you speak to other people out of games? Ala Skype?

Pretty much. Up to four people at once go into a "chat room," and are represented by their Miis. And that's about it, so far.

That's a bit disappointing. Another thing "locked" onto the console, as if we needed more of these...

They should at least let you download the channel for $5 or something. No doubt there'll be more Wii Speaks floating around than those who can actually download the channel.
