So Metroid was ahead by 1 point when Zelda died, and it had gotten slammed by 4 illegitimate negative votes (the cheaters canceled out on Zelda/Mario). Clearly a moral victory IMO, but officially the voting was suspended at the point that Zelda died.

I just checked my last few votes, and i had voted Mario to to keep him at 2nd place. Man that backfired.

when I recount it I get to mibuokami's first vote and have it 6 zelda 5 metroid and 2 mario which would make his vote valid and eliminating mario. or am i wrong on this?

Maybe.  I'll check after work.  Anyway I'll take the blame on that one if so but you can't deny it's a different thing from the train wreck at the end.

If there were 2 separate "endings" with Zelda/Metroid and Metroid/Mario, I'd say that makes Metroid the winner anyway.
