This is simply a misunderstanding of the Mayan calendar. 13.0.0.0.0 (2012-12-21) will be the end of a 400 year cycle and beginning of a new one, not the end of the Mayan calendar.

Here's December 21, 2012 in the Mayan calendar: 0.0.0.0.0.0.13.0.0.0.0
Here's the abbreviated form of that date: 13.0.0.0.0
Here is October 21, 4772 in the Mayan calendar: 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.0.0.0.0
Here's when the Mayans predicted the end of the universe: 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.0.0.0.0
Here's the abbreviated form of that date: 13.0.0.0.0

Clueless dolts look see that the abbreviated form of the date and assume the Mayans predicted the world would end in 2012. They're stupid and wrong. The Mayan calendar says it ends on October 21, 4772.
