If this game bombs, the only repercussion would be that Sony never again publishes or finances their games. I doubt this will be their last game.

Guess I might as well change my sig now - if the"hardcore" fans won't buy this, can't be that much hope considering its a new franchise. And as for LAIR being "Start of PS3 domination" - I think we can all agree there is not a hope in hell now.

I generally disagree with EGM's reviews (and have for years). Still - that Play magazine sounds like a total joke (9 for Sonic? c'mon guys...).

Up the EGM mark by around 1-1.5, and that closer to how I would score most things. Strikers is a solid 8-8.5 for me for example.

Good enough... Let's give them some time though. I want IGN and Gamespot reviews...

Personally, I don't read EGM reviews but have noticed on Gamerankings.com that they're usually pretty close to the 'Average' review score, for example Mario Striker's has an average review score of 78% and there review has a 75% average.

 ...from Play Magazine, dude. These guys gave Sonic the Hedgehog a 9.0 and Game of the Month. They are anything BUT reliable, as StH is one of the worst games so far this generation on any platform.

I've heard from various sources that Lair was an overhyped, average to below average game. Don't expect the review scores to improve, as it's rare for all three EGM reviewers to be off the mark of what a game's average score will be. 

 I got that from an other forum with the same thread.

 And at almost every forum they say the review was fake. 

I'm not surprised with the Lair and Blue Dragon scores.  Disappointing but not surprised.

The previews have been hinting that Lair is not that great by not commiting and saying it is a must buy. 

And back in May one of the previews of Blue Dragon took a "we'll wait and see approach" but they weren't impressed at the time.

For PS3 the big releases this year looks to be the Heavenly Sword and Ratchet and Clank game...  For 360 I think that Mass Effect and Halo 3 are the big first party releases.

It is important that these 4 get great reviews for both platforms as they are first party exclusives and being talked about all the time for each platform.

The EGM scores are apparently fake. The Lair review is in the September issue not the August one. Besides, the August Issue is in retail at Augusy 7th, subscribers get in a week earlier. So he couldn't get it now, besides, its sunday...
