Play Magazine, but I have far less respect for them than any other publication in the game industry.  PSM has more fair and balanced reviews and editorials than Play Magazine.

 Yeah from play magazine.

Still this is essentially three low reviews in one magazine, EGM definately wasnt impressed. Im interested to see how others review it.

Maybe they didnt like it cuz all you do is basicly fly with a dragon using six axis which gets boring after a while. I guess lair is off the list for me. Definatly getting heavenly sword, no wonder sony didnt even talk about lair in the conference

I don't know... I would guess there had to be some major control problems or gameplay flaws to get down to 5.5.  Also, remember Play Magazine releases a single score from a single reviewer.  EGM has 3 individuals go in and play it and ALL of them disliked it.  That's really scary.  The amount of money spent on developing this game to garner a 5.5 (basically total dismissal) from EGM...

People need to avoid overreacting to one magazine's reviews, but apparently EGM didn't like the game and I have faith in their reviews almost always.

Let's see what Gamespot and IGN do with Lair and BD. Something makes me think they will give them both higher scores ;)

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

When do you think the review will be viewable?

Ouch...wasn't expecting Lair to get those scores.

Ironically, I heard jeanne d'arc wasn't that good from importers, or maybe I'm thinking of something else...

That's a shame. It's just one magazine, though. I've heard lots of good things about lair, too.

Blue Dragon is a different type of game, though. It was clearly, definitely made to be as traditional a JRPG as you can possibly get. It wasn't supposed to take new directions or anything, because the goal was to capture the traditional Japanese RPG market. I wouldn't be surprised if Americans didn't end up loving it.
