I had a Core from launch. Bought a 20 gig hard drive for it a long time ago. I tired to see what would happen if I tried this. So I took out my hard drive and went to the website. Looks like XBL is smart. They know exactly what you have on system and what you have done to it. It said I had already upgraded to a hard drive and it won't let me get the deal. Instead of 'Dreamcast, it's watching' it should be 'Xbox, it's watching.'

On Topic: I bought a Arcade unit last December or January. I was using the included 256 MB memory unit for about a month and then quickly bought a 20GB HDD off my friend for $50.

Nice deal though, some Arcade owners that didn't upgrade to a HDD yet should look into it. And Microsoft should advertise this offer in TV ads and in stores.

Yes they should thats why I wanted to post this here for everyone that has not seen it. This is a fantastic deal. And yes MS is smart as far as only the Arcade editions of the console are elidgable for this.

So I decided to go home for lunch and I ordered my hard drive there. The cool thing is I already have a live account so when I entered the info they wanted on the machine and went to order I got the 20GB hard drive for only $19.99 and another nice thing is they pay for the shipping/handling.
