Please take this with a handful of salt. But sat there watching last weeks The gadget show on demand tv, they were doing a games section as they do. Here they said that they could confirm Halo 4 as started the preproduction phase and is not coming to the 360 but will be a launch title for the next Xbox. They said that Bungie are involved but are not the devs for the game.

I have hunted high and low for confirmation on the net, but could only find rumour stuff like the following link.

I have absolutely no proof of any of it, other than this link. Is possible. What do you guys think. And if Gearbox are building the game, would it still feel like Halo?

I'd say we don't even need to speculate on this; no way MS is not continuing their biggest franchise into the NextBox. Whether or not Gearbox is doing it, I would say it's very likely that they are in some way involved. Perhaps doing the coding, where the new internal team (Spawnpoint Studios?) does the design.

Isn't this the Dream Team project. With the Gearbox guy and MGS 4 guy? Halo has always been kinda boring to me. Hopefully they spice it up and get you emotionally involved. Gearbox kicks ass.................

Well, even though its unlikely I can still see Halo 4 as the next Xbox's launch title, but i think it'll be a monumental loss if someone other than Bungie were making it.

I don't see Halo Wars as a loss....
