Forums - Sony - PS3 HELP!!!!

Hi everyone I just got myself a PS3 pretty good price i think (slightly used 80GB version for $320 CAD taxes in).  I didn't really buy the system to game on it but there were some that caught my eye.  I got Uncharted and Heavenly Sword with it.  But I am more interested in the perks it has and also any settings I should set when watching Blu-ray movies or playing games on HD.  For all the people who have PS3 it would be helpful if you told me some settings I should set or useful stuff I could do with the PS3.  BTW I also have a PSP and any also any other game suggestions would be good too ( i know i gotta get resistance 1 and 2).

Make sure you have an HDMI cable and HDTV.
Also, buy MGS4. Arguably the best console graphics of all time.

you can use it to stream movies from your pc to your HDTV if you have windows media player 11. Info can be found on the web

For best picture, go to display settings and change "RGB" from limited to full and turn "super-white" on or off as you see fit.

For awesome themes to personalize your ps3, visit www.ps3-themes.com through your ps3 browser and download the themes you like from there. You can access your new themes from the themes option.

Can't say much about blu-ray because I don't use my ps3 to watch blu-ray movies

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Also overlooked (if you don't already have it) a lot of the time is get a decent sound processor
Blu-Ray in surround sound can be amazing

most of the movies copied to and playing on your PS3 hard drive can be accessed by your PSP in Remote Play, just not Blu-Rays or DVD's etc

Disable the Media Player streaming on the PS3 when you go online. The PSN store has a video section now and the browser can be used for sites like YouTube and Hulu TV.
