how is EA pricing the various versions btw ??
if Madden 08 (PS2) is 30$ vs 60$ for PS2 and X360 many players might choose the PS2 version.

Fonz, I can't imagine EA would release it at just $30.00 for PS2. Did they do that for 07?

when EA was under fire from Visual Concepts and Sega releasing the sports games under budget prices, EA did respond by reducing the prices for their lineup. I'm not sure what the current pricing strategy is going to be.

I remember that but it was across the board so any price drop due to competition would be spread across all platforms and not just the PS2.

Anyone want to wager on the Wii vs PS3 sales? I've been doing some research, and I now have mad faith that the PS3 version out performs the Wii version.

Though quite honestly if they've improved the controls I bet i'd find the Wii version the most fun. Though even with improved controls it would likely be the hardest until you got used to it. (Even then probably still the hardest.)

Madden is mostly about two thing domination against people you play and online domination.

I think everyone is underestimating the Wii version. The casual friendly optional controls are going to appeal to to the casual market even if they don't know the difference between a cover one and a hail mary.

I don't think it will outsell the PS2 or even the 360 but I bet it will be a closer race than most of you think.

 Exactly what kind of "research" is this?  I'd bet money that the Wii version sells better.  It's going to be a solid game, the motion stuff will be better than in '07, and there's online stuff, Mii stuff, minigame stuff...combine that with the most obvious reason, the much larger userbase, and that's why the Wii version will sell more.

It's not like the PS3 version will be bad or anything...the PS3 just has the smallest userbase.

 I will take this wager. I will add it to my earlier wager; the PS3 will not sell 400k in October of this year.
