Forums - Gaming - Mirror's Edge Gets a 7.3 from IGN and a 8.3 from IGN UK

I will wait for it to drop but I like to reward EA for not coming out with a sequel but a new IP. This looks like it will be fighting to be a AA game in the end

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Not interested in this at all anymore.. seen a few dodgy reviews now

Its got bomb written all over it im afraid, there is simply too much competition around right now - despite it being heavily advertised here in the UK in cinemas.

^thats what people said about assasins creed last year, in a similar fashion assasins creed also got low reviews, but ended up being on of the highest selling new ip`s

have u seen some of them billboards with the mirrors edge picture on it, it simply looks amazing, thats what people see and no doubt the adverts on tv will look the same.

i think mirrors edge will be a hit this xmas, with many gift buyers seeing them stands and tv adverts and bollboards, and making a purchase.

demo was ok, but its not something i would buy new

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

"Mirror’s Edge is a classic example of some awesome ideas that just didn’t pan out the way that was originally intended. The list of moves could be more expansive -- maybe by adding a fourth button to the mix -- and the world feels entirely too constricting for what could be a huge open city. Couple those gripes with some unappealing combat and a sometimes buggy design and Mirror’s Edge falls short of my expectations. The ideas are there for a very cool experience, and I truly hope that a sequel is spawned, but this first attempt falls just a bit short.

"PS3 version looks just a bit better than 360."

PS3 version looks a bit better? Wait...what?

"For these misgivings, there’s no doubting that Mirror’s Edge is a special game. More than just unique, it’s a thrilling and stylish venture to untapped territory that’s assured in its firstperson take on platforming. Though an inane plot and limp combat see it falter briefly, the strong visual design and dynamic mechanic ensure it still emerges as a game to be celebrated."

Thoughts? Rental for me

Why be surprised at PS3 version looking better than 360 one? it was lead developed on the PS3, after all.

I'll try and rent it first... or borrow.. or something. From what I saw, it's a cool game.

Because 360 versions always look better

I know there are other games where the PS3 version has looked better, but some people out there don't want people to know that.
