Im assuming locust queen(Myrrah) was apart of the experiment at new hope facility, she does look half human. Gears 3 will be AWESOME!

Thanks. I got jumped on by a swarm of people when i said the boss fight looked underwhelming. I was curious to see how it turned out. |
Even on Hardcore, that fight was lame. But since there was such an awesome last level, I think of it like Final Fantasy VII. You have a really hard last fight/level, followed by a quick scene where you just kick ass after everything you've been through.
I still have some questions, though:
1. What the hell happened to Dizzy? He and Tai stayed back and fought Skorge. We know what happened to Tai, but...
2. I don't really understand what happened with Adam Fenix and the Locust Queen.
3. So, if I understand the question, the whole reason the Locust attacked the humans goes like this:
-Humanity started messing with Immulsion
-The Immulsion made the lambent Locust
-The lambents attacked and started annihilating the regular locust.
-The regular locust needed to escape, so they needed to take the land from humanity.

I don't think there's enough info to answer any of these questions, and that's why there will assuredly be a Gears 3. I hope Dizzy is ok though. I liked his character for the short time he was around for.
Your theory seems plausible by the way. I just don't think there's a way to be sure about it.
The ending for me was a disappointment, the last boss was just plain easy, seems like they rushed it, still the campaign was excellent and the gameplay goes very well with it, compare to the versus multiplayer. At some point I tought I was playing a Halo game doh, talking about the story here and WTF DID I DO, jesus, show me at least something, the ending was disappointing but the whole campaign was awsome and worth the asking price. Hope they fix the multiplayer versus.
The best moment in the game to me was when Cole did his speech to the locus that was massive lol. So many awsome moments in this game that it makes up for the lame ending.
My favorite games for this gen:
1. Gears of War 2. MGS4 3. Killzone 2 4. Halo 3(Underated by many) 5. Mass Effect
What also annoyed me was that all these new characters were introduced... and then killed
Is Hoffman alive as well? I did not see him at the end

I agree, not enough info and I think you have a good summary here but for one thing: isn't it clear due to the presence of the sires (fathers) that the humans on Sera created the locusts? And therefore...are responsible for everything that came after? Did they create them to assist in the "Pendulum" wars and just lose control?
Probably way overthinking this. Plus I didn't read entire thread, so sorry if I repeated stuff.
A lot of people gripe about the last boss, but I don't think Epic was going for your typical "beat the last boss win the game" cliche. The last level of the game was a Hollywood style rollercoaster ride. The momentum just kept building and building. And through the whole game, I was thinking "when do I get to use the Hammer of Dawn?".
A tough last boss would have killed the momentum. Like MGS3 (and four!), the final stretch of the game was just a huge thrill ride. When the Hammer finally fell, I thought "fucking awesome". I'm glad things went the way they did. It was an exciting end to an exciting ride.
My question is, how will Gears 3 go? I mean I know the Queen is still alive and there are some unanswered questions but the Locust Horde has got to be pretty weak after their homeworld got flooded. Maybe there will be another human civil war?

Well I had certainly been thinking about the HoD since the start of the game, and it was so unbelievably awesome (even though I had to drop my beloved longshot), just destroying everything.... reavers down in seconds! Anyway I still didn't like the end, it just felt too easy
@ rseagle, I think most of the locust have survived, and we have made it worse in some way for GeoW 3. I was thinking about the possiblity of having human vs human GeoW, but in terms of a prequel during the pendulum wars, but I just think it would not be the same without the locust
