Forums - Gaming - Am I the only one who can't relate to Killzone 2?

   Hey, this isn't an unfriendly thread, I'm a PS3 owner :P,

I kinda feel strange- PS3 owners this quarter of the year have to choose between a lot of FPS-like games. And while Resistance 2 will be succesful, I feel weird with people saying they will just wait for Killzone 2. Ok, Killzone 2 has best graphics on a console I have ever seen, gameplay is solid, but why WAIT instead of getting Resistance 2? I think Resistance is really stylish, multiplayer rocks, gameplay rolls, still it's getting like a bit of shadow of what "heeey Killzone will be . . .".

I just don't relate to Killzone 2. It doesn't have this charm Resistance has.  It's instead the best looking military shooter. And military, most of the time ( except for Call of Duty ) is... meh for me. Who knows, when I get my hands on it I may change my opinion, but still, why wait for 3 months for a game when you can get R2 and have a great experience?

Do you feel like Resistance 2 is a much better game but won't get the same sales and scores like Killzone 2? I'm not trolling, so please, don't be agressive, it sucks.

In terms of visual style, it has no charm at all. It's also the games' only problem... unless story adds to that.

Yeah, Killzone is just too realistic and that's kinda out of style imo. Imo.
Resistance isn't nearly realistic, but it has it's own style, it's own soul. That's what a game should be like.
Still, I can't bet I won't like Killzone 2. Maybe I will. Maybe gameplay rocks. But Resistance 2 should also be appreciated...

It rocks, don't worry.

It does seem to be a trend that is found more among PS fans than Xbox fans for some reason.

When big hitters are there (well, R2, LBP, and others are the big hitters right now), they immediately look towards the next one.

No idea why, also no idea whether this happened in the previous generation as well.

Pride for their games, justification for the PS, trying to up the xbox games, many reasons are possible.

Be like me. Save up, skip the multiplatform unessential titles like fallout and Mirrors edge and buy them both

You bring up a valid point. Supporters of each console tend to hype games coming out as much, if not more than the games that just released. Just look through the forums and you will see Wii fans discussing The Conduit, or xbox fans discussing Alan Wake, Halo Wars, Left 4 Dead. I think it would be an over-simplification to say that one console is more prone to this than another.

PS3 fans have been looking forward to Killzone 2 for a long time. The Killzone 2 hype train is just leaving the station. Wait until we get closer to release, it will be unbearable.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.
