I wonder if MH3 will outsell FFXIII in Japan?,I personally doubt it,but it'll be close.

The fact that it has a chance (in Japan of course, worldwide it's out of the question) is already a major achievement. Monster Hunter 3 will be huge and will make sure that developers have games ready for that period, cause it will be THE non-nintendo game that will get the hardcore to buy a Wii.

And Trestres: Really you're overreacting so much it's unreal. There are at least 7 JRPGs announced for Wii (granted: smaller ones than FF or DQ) that should at least cause a part of the RPG gamers to buy a Wii. Also the next real Tales is on Wii.

Wow, so MH3 selling 1.5 million+ isn't out of the question anymore.

Was the idea that Japan's fastest growing series on Japan's fastest selling console selling 1.5 million ever out of the question?

From polls taken before all the TGS fiasco, around 70% of Monster Hunter fans said they wouldn't buy Monster Hunter 3.

Bet - "PES 2009 (PS3) will sell (closer to) 150k first week in Japan" - Pooperscopper
"It will sell closer to 125k" - Me I agree.
ME = OWNED :(

End of '09 Predictions:

Wii: 78 million
X360: 35 million
PS3: 27 million

MH3 will flop just like it did on PS2 (flop compared to PSP MH). Ad-hoc was the reason PSP MH become huge, i don't think many people care about SP.

How the hell did Monster Hunter 2 flop just becasue it's sequel did better? It's sequel is SUPPOSED to do better, it's business.

*parrots*

...lol but I actually have come to grips with Trestres reactions, it's like taxes, you dislike it until that refund comes, then you just get use too it...

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

^^ Really? Thats stupid.

It's not stupid,it's just their tastes,if they want to buy the game for their system of choice then the list is very logic.

But we have to see how well Last Remnant sells on the 360,and what kind of affection would do this to the PS3's one, remember what happen with Eternal Sonata.

Seriously FFXIII 2.5 million + in Japan? Lol so its attach rate will be 100%?
And MH3 won't flop just because Sony fans want him to.

So you think by the end of 2009 PS3's install base in Japan will not increase at all? Interesting.

Well, if FF13 really will take another year for it to arrive the PS3 is in a lot of trouble. The only big game until FF13 and GT5 is RE5, but that will release on 360 as well, that right before that will have the release of Star Ocean.

Without major games, we can assume that PS3 will drop to its 5000 level again, so will only sell 5000 x 52 = 260.000 over the year, with maybe an additional 100.000 for game releases. This makes that PS3 won't be at 3 million yet end 2009. And as much as FF13 will sell a lot of systems, it won't sell a million PS3's. Attach rates more than 50% are not going to happen, not even for FF, so if trends continue I see 2 million as a max for FF in Japan.
