DQ 9 will outsell Monster Hunter 3 and FFXIII, your point?

DQ has always been the second biggest RPG in japan(after pokemon), while Final Fantasy being the third. If something is bigger than final fantasy that isn't DQ or Pokemon then yes it is impressive.

@Zucas: Yea, but they seem to be the last HUGE games for the Wii in Japan. So far, there's nothing else coming out that may remotely make it on that list.

Well I'm sure as more games get hyped some more will punch on up there.  But I love how MH3 got 2 sets of votes in the console one haha.

Yea it's hard to stop the montrosity that is Pokemon in Japan.

@Zucas: Oh I forgot about Wii Sports: Resort. MH3, AC:CF and WS:R are the biggest games left for Japan (confirmed million sellers). After those, nothing even comes close, as most of the RPG's are new IPs or niche franchises. Plus Nintendo hasn't announced anything big for Japan so far besides Wii Sports Resort.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Well I'm sure something big will come up haha.  I mean lots of announced games... I'd think at least one catches on.

FF 13 on top of the famitsu list!

on the poll it has MH 3 twice.....so is MH3 meant to be at 174 or just 74??

confused.

WKC is not low on the Famitsu list....it is low on the poll.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

yeah WKC is very low down, looks as though it will do good to sell double what TOV did which is not good as TO has never been big. SO4 will be big though, even with the lower install base I predict it will sell close to WKC.

Because Famitsu represents the whole Japanese community... right?

When did I say that, you like putting words in peoples mouths? I think SO4 close to WKC due to being from tri-ACE, looking graphically superior to WKC and being an established franchise.

SO4 sell close to WKC due to being from tri-ACE? what are you basing this on ? WKC is developed by Level 5 while SO4 is developed by tri-ACE. and wkc is a new ip while previous SO have not been consistent in their sales pattern.

and how is SO4 graphically superior to WKC ? again what are you basing this on ? From your own perspective ?

I only agree with you that SO is an established franchise. other than that, the first two points are zilch. cross cross.

I am a fan of SO and am looking forward to WKC too. However I only have PS3, so I will be getting WKC only. I do want SO4 but just my luck its not multiplatform. Btw I am not an obsessed fanboy but just stating out your misleading statements.

It will be interesting to see if the MH can supplant FF as the number 3 in Japan. Although some FF's have outsold some Dragon Quests, so I'd put them at a tie for #2 or #3.(or FF at a super close 3rd) Although DQIX will sell better then FFXIII because the former is on the DS.

although @ sc94597 MH isn't really an RPG.
