I'm going to be sounding like a fanboy now...

MGS4 is a really, really good game. So is Little Big Planet, from what I've heard. Bioshock is also great, but that PS3 finally got it is just a minor victory for the PS3. Resistance... I don't know, really. We'll see about that. Blu-ray isn't taking over. It DID win over the HD-DVD, but that's about it. DVD is still the way to go.

So your argument has a bit of merit. It does however, completely forget one important thing. The competition. It's kind of like saying that you won a race because you ran 200m in 20 seconds. Ok. Great. But what time did your opponents get? And how long was the race?

The 360 has had a pretty good year too. It stole Final Fantasy XIII, had Fable 2, Gears of War 2 ... and other things that I'm not that familiar with. Grand Theft Auto IV also did very well on both systems.

The Wii, which I personally would proclaim the winner of the year (fanboyish, I know, the year isn't even over with), saw releases of Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. All of which has sold more than 7 million copies, with Wii Fit leading the pack with sales that are still increasing weekly to a point where it's actually not that far behind the PS3. Wii also proved it's not a fad, which counts as a huge victory in my book.

I might also add, before you go all hiffy on me, that Metacritic ratings is not the only way to measure success. Sales are actually the best way to measure what the market wants, and it is the market that determines success. Not you, me, or the reviewers. Sorry. T.T

Game Rankings has Gears higher than MGS4 and I'm more willing to trust a website that covers solely games than everything. Nice double post.

For it to be the "Playstation 3's year" I would think it would have to outsell the other two consoles....right? It's had an amazing year but saying that it had a much better year then the other two consoles I just don't think is right. It had ups and downs. It had amazing games with amazing reviews and amazing sales and also games with upsetting reviews and sales. If any year game score wise will be the ps3's year by the way, I think it would be 09 if all of the exclusives that are suposed to come out come out. Killzone 2, God of War 3, GT5, Heavy Rain, Infamous, M.A.G., Ratchet, Jak 4 or uncharted 2, etc. as I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting and more to be announced. That just sounds like an amazing lineup. But Microsoft has a lot of unannounced titles that will be amazing too as well as Alan Wake, Halo Wars(even though I'm not interested) etc.

Great but niche game, like imo, Banjo, Disgaea, Vesperia, or LO. I personally disliked LO.

all systems have some major release this year, there is no point bragging which one is better than the others. Whatever you like to spin it to a certain favor the other guys can always spin it the other way around to counter it. So just fucking enjoy any game you like and stop crying.

Ok.... 2008 isn't really PS3's year.... But IMO in 2007 it really looked liked it..... It looks like 2009 will be PS3's year but if it isn't, it will be 2010, and it will go on and on until the next generation...
